Spookily Entertaining Autumn Break at Museum Mors

At Museum Mors’ three departments, the whole family can enjoy exciting experiences during week 42. At the Foundry Museum, the spooky atmosphere takes over, while the Fossil and Mo-clay Museum offers popular fossil hunts. At Dueholm Monastery, you can explore your artistic side.

Once again this year, the Foundry Museum becomes the island’s scariest house when we open the doors to Terror at the Old Factory. The museum is taken over by ghosts, witches, dead maidens, and other terrifying characters from Mors’ many legends and myths. It’ll be a night you’ll wish you could forget! Terror at the Old Factory is created in close collaboration with Morsø Municipality’s social day services, who provide the most frightening actors imaginable. The Foundry Museum opens for this spooky experience on Friday in week 42 from 18:00–20:30. We recommend that guests are at least 10 years old.

On Wednesday in week 42, the Foundry Museum opens for Halloween Junior – Haunted Maidens of Mors. The scare level is turned down a notch so children under 10 can join in. There will be no actors, but you can discover stories about the eerie maidens who haunt the island at night. The lights are off, so don’t forget your flashlight! Open from 11:00–21:00.

From Monday to Friday during the autumn break, you can book a guided fossil hunt. Our skilled experts will guide you through the museum’s mo-clay pit, packed with exciting fossils just waiting to be uncovered. Maybe you’ll find the next big discovery? No matter what you find, your guide will help identify it. A cozy and educational outdoor activity. Fossil hunts start at 11:00, with an extra tour on Monday at 16:00.

If you’re more into art, come to Dueholm Monastery for our Historical Collage Workshop. Local visual artist Klara Espersen will lead a workshop where you can create collages using historical photographs from Morsø Folkeblad. A way to bring the past into artistic present. The workshop and materials are included in your ticket to Dueholm Monastery – and remember, children under 18 enter for free. The workshop runs Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in week 42 from 11:00–15:00.
