Fossil hunting in a moler pit with access through the museum
The museum organises guided fossil hunts during the Easter, summer and autumn holidays. The trip takes place in a moler pit close to the Fossil and Moler Museum, where participants gain access to an area rich in fossils.
Find fossils of fish, insects and plants in the moler
The moler can yield fossils of fish, insects and plants, among other things. When the stone is split, impressions may emerge that have been preserved for up to 55 million years.
Guidance and tools provide access to the hunt underground
Together with a guide, participants receive instruction in how to work with the moler and search for fossils. The right tools are used to open the stones and examine their contents.
