Sillerslev Øre – current, depth and classic coastal fishing in Sydmors

At Sillerslev Øre you encounter the Limfjord from a somewhat rawer and more lively angle.

Here the water is constantly at work, and the current shapes conditions from hour to hour. It is a coastal spot that demands something of you as an angler – but one that can give something back in return.

On the eastern side the bottom drops quickly, and deep water lies close to shore. Together with the often powerful current, this creates good conditions for fish seeking food in the movement between the deeper and shallower sections.

Fishing with weight

This is not the place for light tackle. The strong current conditions mean that spinning with a little weight on the lure is often the most effective approach. When the current pushes through, you can feel the fjord come alive – and that is often precisely where the fish are.

Rules and consideration

Just north of the spot lies Sillerslev Å, where a six-month closed season applies. Be aware of closed zones and current regulations, so that fishing takes place with respect for both nature and fish stocks.
