Frøslev Kirke is one of the oldest churches on Mors and contains a remarkable collection of historical layers and details.

From the Middle Ages to more recent times
The church dates from the 12th century and consists of a chancel and nave from the Romanesque period. A tower and porch were added in the 16th century, giving the building a layered and characterful architecture.
In the base of the porch you'll find a distinctive ashlar stone bearing a lively lion relief – a detail that stands out and catches the eye.
Details with personality
The font is made of granite and decorated with face masks in the arcade panels of the bowl – a rare and fascinating motif that offers a glimpse into the symbolic world of the Middle Ages.
The altarpiece is of the cabinet type from around 1580, while the pulpit from the 17th century has a distinctive oriel form.
On the north side of the chancel you'll find a confessional with the year 1636 inscribed inside – yet another testament to the church's long history.
A unique ship model
Frøslev Kirke also houses the oldest church ship on Mors, dated to the 1770s. It hangs as a quiet symbol of the connection between faith, life and the sea that has shaped the area for generations.
The chancel arch crucifix from around 1500 completes the experience with its historical weight and simple expression.
