Hesterør Point
Hesterør Odde is a varied and attractive fishing spot by the Limfjord with good depth close to shore, small reefs and rich nature.

Hesterørodde – calm, coastal nature and outstanding fishing by the Limfjord
Just a stone's throw from local life in Sydmors lies Hesterørodde – a quiet and understated place where the Limfjord unfolds into a landscape of water, light and open expanses.
There isn't much noise here. In return, there is plenty to experience if you take the time. If nothing else, you can linger over the views towards Salling (where you can just make out Spøttrup Castle), Venø and Jeginø.
The coast around the headland is varied and alive. Small stones, mussels, sand, eelgrass and seaweed alternate beneath the surface, and small reefs break the current and create good conditions for fish.
The water quickly becomes deep close to shore, and it is right here that the sea trout passes by – often closer than you might expect.
A place that rewards patience
Hesterørodde is not necessarily a place where you hurry. It is a place where you stand a little longer, cast a few more times and feel the fjord at work.
The fishing is particularly good at high water, when the tide pushes food sources over the shallower areas and brings life closer to the coast.
You can fish on both sides of the headland, and conditions constantly change with wind and water.
Did you know…?
The name Hesterørodde holds a small linguistic story.
It is thought that the name originates from an old dialect expression – something along the lines of "hester ør æ oj", which can be translated as "the horses out on the headland". Over time the words were contracted and shaped into the name we know today.
It is a reminder that the landscape here is not only nature – but also history and lived life.
