Fishing at Hanklit Cliff
Hanklit is one of Denmark's most impressive coastal fishing spots, with a rocky seabed and deep water close to the shore. Fine fish are often caught here, and the area is popular among anglers.

Hanklit – iconic coastal fishing by the Limfjord
Hanklit in Nordmors is something truly special. Here dramatic moler cliffs and deep water come together in a stretch of coastline regarded as one of the most beautiful and productive fishing spots in Denmark.
Just a few metres from the shore the bottom drops steeply, and you are quickly fishing over depth where predatory fish patrol close to the coast.
A coastline with depth and structure
The coast is rocky with a classic leopard bottom – a mix of stones, sand and seaweed that creates perfect hiding places and feeding grounds.
It is precisely the variety in seabed and depth that makes Hanklit a strong year-round spot where fine fish are regularly caught.
Fishing in the shelter of the cliff
The moler cliffs, rising up to 60 metres high, take the edge off even a strong easterly wind and allow fishing when other spots are blown out.
The stretch north of Hanklit is well known and well visited, while the area to the west often stays under the radar – but holds equally exciting possibilities for those willing to walk a little further.
Nature, fossils and experiences
Hanklit is not just about fishing. The cliffs tell a geological story stretching back millions of years, and the area is known for its many fossils.
This gives the trip an extra dimension – here you can fish and go exploring in the traces of the past at the same time.
Access and safety
Be aware of conditions along the steep cliffs, particularly at high water when passage can become difficult. Exercise caution when moving close to the cliff face.
Parking is available in the car park at the end of Hanklitvej.
